Module 3: Nursery Rhyme Storyboard

For our second assignment, we were to interpret a fairy tale through storyboards. I picked "Hey Diddle Diddle" using the two main characters "Cat" and "Diddle". I tried to stay true to the rhyme adding a modern twist. For example, notice how the cow is broad jumping the moon -- on his two hind legs!! Hilarious. I'm getting more familiar with the "Manga Studio Ex" computer program using cleaner lines as I go. Click on each images to view it bigger.

Module 2: One minute sketches

Well, it's started up again. Finally. Here's my first drawing assignment for this new storyboarding class taught online class at Foothill College. I've been learning "Manga Studio EX" to draw the storyboards in order to speed up and refine the process. For this first assignment we were to draw each panel with a one minute time limit. Well, actually with the power of the computer, I was able to draw a total of two images and manipulate them for a total of six panels. It took a little longer then one minute though. I added the limited color afterward. All of this is experimental right now but I'm liking the results. I know I've got a lot to learn. Come back again to see my progress.
